I was wondering..for gaming..is it worth it to customize the lappy for a HDD with 7,200rpm instead of 5,400rpm?

    Is it really worth it?

How come? What am I paying for more of??

Programs will load faster, but they won't necessarily run faster.

As far as I know...gaming wise it will only help in level loading, and that's pretty much all the benefit you will see.

Nonetheless I do like the lil' spice up in speed...so I would go to the 7200rpm

It depends on what hard drives you're talking about. Some 5400 rpm drives are faster than some 7200rpm drives.

Check sites like Laptopmag.com, Techreport.com or storagereview.com for reviews.

The most different between those hardrives only recognizable when you move or work with huge file size, IMO

Booting Windows and seek time will be faster. Copy/paste will be faster too.
But you won't get extra FPS in games.
