Well, i have a foulloing question. I have Amilo XI-1546 laptop and in manual it says that it have a soundcard that should support 5.1 anolog and 7.1 digital output. My question is how to enable 5.1 output? The program for soundcard only shows 2CH or headphons, but i can make all 3 contacts run as lineout but ints meaning it only have strereo in all speakers as i understand it. Did anyone know how can i pass this problem or if i miss something???

Soundblaster should have what your looking for in USB and PCMCIA, no express.

You may have to enable your analog 5.1 through a contol panel?

Propobly, but i did not find any where how, that why i ask here on the forum, on m old desktop where i hed realtek software for sound card, you could first choose 5.1 sound, then choose how to connect it, here i cant find anything like that. I am not sure, maybe i did install some wrong software or something.

What USB soundcard is it from creative, i only know them have pcmcia audidgy card.

You have S/PDIF OUT on your headphone jack which can be run to a decoder equipped receiver of your choice.

For decoded analog out, search Amazon.com for the USB SoundBlaster adapters or search these forums. This would be the only method I know to feed small desktop 5.1 analog IN speakers.

Your manual should explain which applications are needed, the S/PDIF out may be automatic when a longer jack is inserted other than the shorter headphone jack.

Sorry I can't be specific for your notebook but your owner’s manual should have the answers. BTW, nice notebook ;)
