    i'm planning to buy seagate 500gb HDD for my Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop.Is this HDD compatible with my lappy??

    any other alternative good HDDs for my laptop??

    It is compatible but it's one of the slower 500GB hard drives.

    Better look at WD5000BEVT (fastest), Hitachi 5K500.b (more efficient), or Toshiba MK5055GSX (lowest idle power).
