When I was looking the Memory for my Dell E1705, I was wondering if the 2 GB of Memory with 533 Mhz will run just as smooth if not smoother then the 1 GB 667 Mhz.
As I was looking, the Memory with the 2 GB had a lower MHZ with 533, and I was hoping that even though it was lower, I wanted to know if it would still be MUCH better then the 1 GB with 667 mhz.
Also, is there much of a difference between the 667 mhz and 533 mhz.. thx!!

The difference between 533 and 667 is minimal, mostly because they haven't been able to lower the latency on the 667 chips. For just about anything, they will perform the same. The only time they will not is when you're accessing a large (very large) file for a long period of time. Only then will the 667 possibly pull ahead with a little higher peak bandwidth.

What processor do you have?
It depends what you do with your system. If you use up a lot of memory, the 2GB will definitely be better. If you don't, stick with 1GB @ 667Mhz.
Edit - I think a notebook memory sticky is in order. There's really no reason to have half a dozen new topics about it every week. -
Well, I was want to make sure that there isn't a whole difference in the 667 to the 533. I don't want to feel that I wasted 122 dollars by going from 1 GB 667 mhz to the 2 GB 533 mhz

I take it that 1GB is 2x512MB?

Regardless, the amount of RAM is going to be more important in this case.

If it's 2GB 533MHz ram or 1GB 667MHz ram i'd take 2GB 533MHz ram every time.

Ok, thanks. You all have really helped me. w00t!
