    Hello,
Would you recommend a 5400 RPM 320 GB HDD or a 7200 RPM 320 GB HDD in a Lenovo T500? Would the performance difference be noticeable? Thanks for your help : )

    Regards

If you're configuring it, it's generally not worth it to upgrade. I would get the cheapest HDD available and buy a drive from say Newegg. Personally, I'd get a 7200RPM drive aftermarket since the price difference isn't much, though the difference in performance really isn't much either.

in that case the 7200rpm drive will be slightly faster, but whether or not to get it depends on the price Lenovo wants to upgrade. Normally I'd say go for the 7K320, but also be aware you can buy a similar drive aftermarket for $60-$80 and there will soon be a good selection of 500GB 7200rpm drives available, too.
