    I'm a newbi here both on this site and in self ownership of my first laptop. I would like to know which is the better graphics card the 555M 3GB or the 540M 2GB.

    Don't, stay with the GT 555M 3GB choice. What ever you do, don't take the 540M

    Don`t by any of them. Find a cheap notebook with Kepler (GT640M/GT650M/GT660M). They will beat your 540M/555M and produce less heat

    No kidding. And I'm so new to all this, but I looked at the performance on these two cards and even I could see the difference. I will patiently wait now for Dell to deliver, I must say we haven't had problems with them in the past and have ordered other systems from them. Thanks everyone for your input.
