    I would definetly get the 7200. You can put your old hard drive in an external usb case if you need the extra storage.

    I know things, things that could get me killed

    * 1.6Ghz Pentium M * 768Mb Memory * 40Gb Hitachi 7200RPM * Panasonic UJ-845-B DVD+RW *

    i would also recommend the 7200rpm drive, no matter what your doing the 7200rpm drive will just make everything a little faster.

    *Dell Inspiron 9200, P-M 2.1ghz 400mhz FSB, 1 GB Ram 333mhz, 17inch WSXGA+ Screen, 60gb 7200rpm HD, 128 ATI M Radeon 9700 (OC: 485/270), XP Pro SP2, Wifi + Bluetooth*

    *Sony MDR-G74SL Headphones for music and gaming, best 40 dollar pair i have ever bought!*

    yeah, the 7200 is better; with the faster HD, you'll see better overall performance on your laptop.

    80gb 5400 rpm is more cost effective than 60gb 7200 rpm.

    whatever you do just dont get toshiba HDD's they bench in LAST and they cost as more than the seagate drives...

    in benchmarks the hitachi 7200RPM 60GB is the fastest (obviously)
    a tie for 2nd is Seagate and Western Digital 80GB HDD's, the the middle of the pack is the samsung 80GB (its also the cheapest and the best value), 2nd last is fujitsu, i recommend against fujitsu, dead last is toshiba with its 16MB cache (this drive is a total joke)

    -->Asus M6BNe | Pentium M 1.6GHz Dothan | 1024MB PC2700 Micron Ram | Radeon 9700 Pro 64MB | 80GB Samsung 5400 RPM 8MB Cache | Gigabit LAN | CDRW + DVD Combo |
    -->Compal CL56 | Pentium M 1.6GHz Dothan | 1024MB Ram | Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB | 60GB HDD | 10/100 LAN | DVDRW |
