There hasnt been any other notable problems with my computer. everything else was more or less fine and then it just started happened randomly.

i found another guy who has this exact problem and his description is spot-on so ill just copy it from him

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Hmm.. Okay..
    1) I'm watching videos on youtube ( or any other streaming site )
    2) Screen turns black for a few seconds (3 or so)
    3) The video is just a green screen.
    4) On the bottom left of my screen an error pops up: "Display Driver AMD has stopped responding and has succesfully recovered."
    5) I watch another video after that.
    6) BSOD Happens.

Don't think I can give you a more detailed version :/

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
anyone have any idea what might cause this??

also, the BSOD dump wasnt saved, like it was supposed to. cant get a log from whocrashed

    You could first try this:

Right click any flash video and go to settings, uncheck hardware acceleration.

thanks, i can watch the videos that way, but i think this is just sidestepping the real issue. I mean for now i could watch the videos but the driver problem with the hardware is still be unsolved, which could resurface in a different issue sometime in the future.

i wanna know whats causing it and how to correct it.

I did a fresh reinstall of the vga drivers.

now the 'green screen' and the crashing stopped, but after prolonged surfing, the web browser starts to leave out content. theres missing pictures, missing text,

NBR looks like this when its really bad:

It's either 90% driver or 10% hardware problem. I'm betting on driver issue (insert rant of ATI drivers here) so obviously try first the latest driver and if it doesn't work you could try some older releases if they would be stable.

    looks pretty bad,

Oddly never used an ATI card so couldn't moan about drivers. It is looking like hardware failure comparing to similar faults Ive had with Nvidia cards.

lol my bad. i think i got it

for some reason i thought i'd click "update driver" in device manager under display drivers right-click menu after i finished reinstalling the ATI driver. I was expecting to see a 'your drivers are up to date' message. instead it found something and went on to reinstall without even prompting me. (isnt 11.12 the latest for ATI though?? what could it have been?). the device was still in use, so this BSODed my machine again.. its not having a very nice day today

but at this point i counldnt tell that the display driver got bumped off. i only realized this when i ran ATI driver manager for a second reinstall. the 'display driver' was not on the list of installed components. so i just reinstalled again.

looks ok now but I'll stay wary for any other signs.. still dont have an explanation for why this started happening in the first place.

    Hi,
I have a 6990m and have not had any driver problems. Try the 12.1 preview drivers as its very good.

I have an HD6630m that was having the same issues. Green screen on flash videos and browser compositing corruption.

A driver update to the 12.1 preview and a flash player update seems to have solved all my issues. The 12.1 previews are pretty nice, especially the revamped CCC.

Have you updated Flash Player? That is the cause of alot of Youtube grief.
