Weird, idk what to do. I want my full 6 GB of ram. all 3 sticks work, i ran the memory test that comes in the BIOS as a feature. anyways, I wish i knew what to do!
running 7 64 bit

Is it being used for Nvidia Turbo Cache? Seems like a lot for Turbo Cache though.
-
how do i check?
-
You might be able to look in the NVIDIA Control Panel (right-click on desktop and select it), then click on the System Information at the bottom left of the window.
There should be information about your graphics card, with the amount of available dedicated and shared memory shown. However, it's still pretty odd to only have 4.61 available -- and I'm pretty sure the GTX 260M won't use any of the shared memory since it probably has more than enough dedicated memory. -

3127-1024+4.61= 6gig
-
Hmm, that's too much RAM!
3127-1024+4610=6713 = 6.5GB
Or:
3127-1024=2103=2.05GB+4.61GB=6.66GB
Because Maths doesn't lie, I suspect Melina Payne is lying
EDIT:
Hi, have you tried updating your BIOS?
Many have solved the lost boys.. I mean the missing memory problem by updating their bios. -
this is weird, i can post screenshots if i have to.... there are no BIOS updates, everything is up to date.
-
Have the rest of you guys considered that some of the PC documentation might be talking about marketing megabytes as 1000 Kb and the rest of it might be talking about real megabytes as 1024 Kb?
This happens with hard drives all of the time. And y'all should know that..... -
Where are you getting the 4.61GB is usable number?
-
windows index
-
At win index, click on the advanced tools on the left side of the window, then resource monitor, then memory tab at top. It will show how much you have, how much is in use and how much available. I think that is why your showing 4.61 available, some is in use.
-
i don't see a memory tab
edit: nevermind -
2900 available, 2380 cached, 4719 total, 6144 installed
-
Are you sure that is the RAM? not the Page File?
-
Try going to run, msconfig, then under boot options, click the advanced tab, and on the right see if the box for max memory is checked, and if so what number is there. If it is checked and the number is less than your 6 gb, uncheck it, restart and see how much is available.
-
fixed, thanks dude
-
I have a similar problem, I thought it was normal?
-
total = installed, i don't see a problem...
-
RIght, I'm stoopid.
-
haha, everyone makes mistakes
6GB of ram, but 4.61 usable?
