I'm gonna buy a laptop but I would like to have the capability to have component out (YPbPr). I wonder if this is possible with this adapter:
http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=2550138
using for example
HP NX9420 with ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 256MB
http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3176&review=Compaq+nx9420
or
HP PAVILION DV9266 with nVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 512 MB
http://www.dustinhome.se/Dacsaportal/?ProdID=5010100273
both have 7-pin TV-out

Yes, it looks like it will work for the Radeon X1600, but I can't say for sure about the NVIDIA card. I am fairly sure that if they both use a 7-Pin S-Video out, it will work for both.

What you're saying is that the cable should work for every X1600 card with 7-pin TV-out? Do you have a HP yourself? Do HP practice 100% compliant with the specs? Where can I find this custom cable you're talking about?
Because the URL I'm refering to says that it works with:
* RADEON X800 Series
* RADEON X700 Series
But maybe it's not updated for the new Radeon series cards.
