Hello all,
I'll be moving to a significantly smaller apt soon and was wondering if the following was possible:
I currently have a couple of my favorite movies on BRays and watch on my TV with 7.1 speakers. I won't have room in my new apt for the TV and speakers, so I was wondering if I can simply have my friend rip (he's a lot more tech savy than I am and has a blueray player on his computer) my bluerays, so I watch it on my laptop with the following 7.1 headphone: Turtle Beach - Ear Force X41 - NEW Xbox 360 Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset
Please let me if my laptop will be able to play 7.1 audio with the previous headset, assuming the audio is ripped properly from the dvds / bluerays.
Questions
Will I need a new audio card or something?
How do I know if my laptop supports surround sound audio / 7.1 audio?
Will I get 7.1 surround sound on PC games that support surround sound?
Thanks a lot!

If it plugs in through USB. It wont use your sound card, so it would work fine(buying new sound card wouldn't make a difference). Its uses drivers instead, so just make sure you headphone's driver is up to date!
I use and love my G35 7.1 headphones from logitech(also USB like all 7.1 out today)!
I have a 5.1 system, but I think the 7.1 headphones have a better sorround sound feel.
7.1 headphone
