    7200rpm drive or hybrid drive with 256mb flash?

    Which is faster? I know the hybrid drive will be better for battery comsumption.

    You would have to be specific with the model as even similar hard drives from different companies can yield different results. Who sells hybrid hard drives anyways?

    hybrid drives yield no benefit is adding to the bandwidth of the drive. There is only one model hybrid drive on the market for a reason, it had no benefit, which is why no one continued with it.
    Go for a high density 5400rpm drive or a 7200rpm drive.
    Keep in mind, the 320gb 5400rpm drives yield the same bandwith as a 200gb 7200rpm drive.

    I agree... just go with a higher end 7200 rpm drive (GB wise I mean when I say higher end) than spend money on a hybrid. :)

    All other things being equal, a 120GB 7200 will outperform a 120GB 5400 though correct?
