So, I just ordered a P170EM with an i7 3639qm and, while I'm super excited about the massive performance jump from my current machine (see sig), I keep hearing people complaining about enduro.

Now, most of the threads I've seen talking about GPU under-utilization are from months ago and I've no idea if any good new drivers have been released that fix this issue. Can anyone here let me know if things have improved? Have people seen tangible performance increases over the past few months or are there still problems? I haven't used an AMD card in years so have no idea if their driver updates are better than they were previously, which is to say not good at all.

I have one in a P150 and it is a huge disappointment.

Glad to hear it! So it's a massive difference then? That's reassuring. I heard that the issue plagued games in lower settings/resolutions more and since I plan on maxing everything out at native res, I had hoped that it wouldn't be as much of an issue anyway. Still, nice to hear that things are better.

Yeah, I just saw their official post on the driver page. It's reassuring to see that something's getting done so I'm not undergoing buyers regret just yet. Plus, like I said, it'll still be a huge performance increase for me even with the problems.
