I got my wife a Dell e1405 last year. I dumped 2 gigs of RAM in it and it's a 1.83ghz C2D so it should be pretty fast right? Um, no. I read a review of the 7K200 today and was really impressed. I HDTached the drive in the e1405... OMG.

    Max Read: 35meg/sec
    Min Read: 18meg/sec
    Access time: 20.5ms

    Compared to the 7K200:

    Max Read: 71.5 meg/sec
    Min Read: 40 meg/sec
    Access time: 14.1ms

Any reason this drive wouldn't work? I believe the e1405 is SATA.

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Should be no reason.
Might be a little hotter than the 5400.

    My access time changes.
Now it is even more slower than in the pictures.
