    I'm making a mass order of 5k500.B's and I'm going to swap out my storage drive for sure. How much speed am I gonna lose if I swap out the OS drive too?

    I think John mentioned that the 5K500.B has a ~9mb/sec load speed for windows. I think that is more than what my 7K320 had.
    Honestly you should not notice much of a difference in terms of performance. The 7K320 will load files faster because of its shorter seek time. But the differences in real life are not going to be very much. Maybe a few seconds, if that

    last year, I never would have thought we could get a 500gb drive for around $80

    Yeah 7K320 is a bit faster and uses more power. Unless you are doing some heavy multi-tasking, it will be hard/impossible to notice a speed difference.
