Will this ram work with a Core duo (version 1). I'm asking because it is 800 mhz and I don't know if it will work with the original core duo. Also will it work with my 1 gb 667 mhz? I'm guessing it will just underclock the 800 mhz ram correct? I have a hp dv8000t if that means anything.

    Thanks guys and gals,
    Paul

800 will downclock, but 667 is usually cheaper, so there's no reason to buy 800.

Current platforms do not support 800 RAM, only 667.

if it is Core Duo version one, you should get Ram with 533Mhz frequency. 800Mhz ram is waste of money

As Lithus said... Go for 667 MHz, 533 MHz will definitely be slower so don't purchase that.
