Does anyone know where to find comparable power draw data for the 820QM and 920XM? E.g., idle power draw, draw at a defined moderate load, draw at full load? I ask because I know that the 920XM has a higher TDP, but that means only that it is rated to generate up to an additional 10W, not that it necessarily draws 22% more power at all uses than the 820QM. I'm curious to understand how much more power draw in actual usage there is from the 920XM vs. the 820QM.

The 8xx and 7xx Core i7 mobile chips with TDP of 45W uses around 10% less power in low power states(like C1, C3) compared to the 55W of the 9xx, Extreme versions.

It is usually like that if you look at datasheets. Chips with lower TDP have lower power usage figures in idle power states as well.

Slower CPUs and less cache, also lead to lower power consumption...

most probably the 920XM wil use more power... especially on full load....
