I am looking into buying a new asus gaming laptop. I have an unlimited budget however I do not want more than a 15.4" screen. I have noticed that asus offers the G1, and the G1s. The difference being the graphics cards. According to notebook review the 8600-GT out performs the 7700 and it is DX10 compliant. However, the 7700 has the DDR3 VRAM memory, and the 8600-GT has 256 dedicated with 512 turbocache. So my question is, Which card will perform better? Thanks.

    simple answer

the 8600m gt is the best available card in 15" notebooks.

if you have ati brand loyalty, you can wait for the hd 2600 xt, which should perform the same as the 8600m gt.
