    I don't think there's a DDR2 version of 8700M GT, so yes(correct me if i'm wrong) and the NP5791 have the DDR3 version.

    All 8700gt SHOULD be GDDR3.

Technically, they could be DDR2. No-ones so far been dumb enough to produce one. Not even dell.

The NP5791 is indeed a full fledged 8700gt. Doubly noted ontop of WingZG

Actually, it can't.. Then it would be called an 8600m GT, we all know that the 8700m GT is just a higher clocked 8600m GT, and thus couldn't be DDR2.

Hm, come to think of it they would likely call an 8700 with DDR2 some sort of Quadro if it was in the 8700s memory config but ddr2. But techicaly yes, there could be a difference. It would preform terribly ram-wise... >.< And have 8700 core clocks... Lets not think of that terrible waste.

The point is, if it says 8700m, its gona be gddr3 ^.^

    This is false...

It would still be an 8700GT that is crippled.

The 8700GT at the very least also pulls more power than any 8600GT on the market.

This is WHY it can be clocked 30% higher (stock) than an 8600GT.
(nevermind it overclocks far above that as well)

Heh, mostly theyre just the creme-de-la-creme of the 8600, with a larger thermal footprint alloud for(Between these two you get the better preformance and overclockibility), and a wonky method of extending support for more of the gddr3.

The point is, noone has done it w/ddr2, not even dell. So lets not think about it, since its therefore irrelevant and dumb. Possible? Probobly. Likely to ever happen, no, and lets hope not.

After all, what a waste of one HECK of a good core it would be.
