Hi guys,
I have a ProStar Clevo P150SM-A with an GTX 870M 6GB and I'm looking for upgrade it to an GTX 970M 6GB pretty soon (I'm waiting till reach 100 posts in order to announce my GTX 870M in the marketplace lol).
The thing is, I contacted ProStar and they'll NOT send me the newest BIOS which have 9xx series compatibility. The best plan is to look for 3rd party options like Prema BIOS? The re-seller offered me an upgrade option for $400, and they'll keep my current GPU. Its expensive IMO because a brand new 970M its $450 at RJTech.
Any advice is welcome.

Is that 400 on top of the gpu price? Because yeah that's pretty bad. Third party options usually work well, and prema is a good option. I know multiple people running them. Otherwise not sure what u could do.

Yeah, with the re-seller would be basically my 870M + $400 which is really bad. My idea is to sell the 870M, then install myself the 970M + Prema BIOS in order to have system compatibility...

Yeah I did something similar with my GT60, I sold my 880m on my own for like 450 and then bought a 980m and installed it on my own. Although I had no option at all to upgrade, so I had to do it myself and even mod the heatsink. Works great though with a modded vBios. Its actually a clevo card with an modded vbios, idk if that can work for you.

Yeah In my case I found a Clevo GPU for $450... Guess it'll work fine.

Also I would sell your current GPU and get a 970M.. The deal offered by prostar is crap..gabrielmocan likes this. -
@TomJGX I just installed the 970M + Prema BIOS Mod and everything its working like a charm. Do you recommend me to put the vBIOS from Prema too? And if yes, which one? The MXM Stock or the OC one that its on his website?
870M to 970M upgrade (P150SM-A)
