If i wanted to buy one of these gpu's then where on earth could i get them from in the UK? Cheers. Been looking everywhere can't find prices or anything and no notebook manufacturers are selling them on their own.

    If it's for your M7700, don't bother.

If it's for a Clevo, check with Clevo resellers, they do have those for sale.

    correct.

the MXM card will require a specific heatsink/fan depending on a specific system.

I wonder if they don't do upgrades if you send it in?

Also, at the moment the SLI 8800m GTX is +$999 compared to the SLI 8600GT. And as it has been said, M17X only does SLI.. for now at least.

doesnt matter how much, they only sell it in sli when purchasing the laptop. I wanted the cheap cards for now and then purchase the 8800GTX later as an upgrade. but it's not possible.

I bought an m57 from Rizeon, a good UK clevo reseller. Decent prices and excellent service. Novatech is cheaper still; but heard mixed feedback and they didn't deliver to where I live.

As for buying the card without a computer, I don't know of anyone who sells mobile GPU's.

Best bet is to wait for someone to get fed up of theirs and flogs it on ebay?!
