    hey guys i just bought a battalion cz-8 ultra from ibuypower which is a compal jfl92

    it has a 8600m gt 512mb video card

    i was wondering if i can upgrade to a 8800m gtx??

    are they the same mxm? and if i can upgrade
    where can i buy the 8800m gtx?? they dont sell it on their own i think you can only get it with a new laptop?

    do i call ibuypower? wtffff do i do help me please this is driving me crazy

    No you can not. The 8600m GT is the current maximum for this laptop, and any future upgrades for it will be around that level of performance.

    Your laptop has mxm type II . Any 8800M GTX I know is Type HE. So I see no chance for that upgrade. But if you get a card that outperforms your 8600m GT and has either mxm type I or II, then you can probably upgrade. I say probaby, as fitting physikaly and matching thermal affords doesn't include software compatibility.

    No, you cannot upgrade to the m8800Gtx.
    The graphics cards are physikaly different sizes and have different power constraints. The mxm type is even different, so you cannot upgrade to this graphics card.
