Hey guys! I'm Mike, new here.

I have a question. I have a Sony VAIO model VPCEA36FX. I'm looking to upgrade the RAM. It currently has 4gbs and I want to go to 8gb.

I've decided on Crucial but from using their scanning tool, I have two options:

    8GB Kit (4GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-10600 memory module
    or
    8GB Kit (4GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-8500 memory module

I'm not sure the difference. I just want the fastest, most efficient laptop.

Price is the same so I need a little explanation. Thanks in advance guys, I really appreciate it.

    Mike

The difference is so small (hint: it is only really noticeable in benchmark programs) that you should just get what is cheaper and has a lifetime warranty. You might also want to check out NewEgg for other RAM vendors...they might be cheaper and just as good. Corsair and Crucial are both good brands.

If you don't have a quad core i7, it won't support 1333 RAM natively. You will not see the benefits of faster RAM in daily use or gaming, only synthetic benchmarks and rendering. Go with whatever is cheaper.

Well they are the exact same price? So should I just go with the 10600 in that case?
