Hey guys, I just ordered an hp DV6500Z yesterday, my question is this: I ordered it with a Turion X2 TL-62, and I was wondering if they used one of the newer cores that are based on the 65nm process, or is it an older chip based on the 90nm process, how can I tell? Im interested because the 65nm I hear perform more like the core2duos between models of a similar ghz speed. Thank so much!

The odd multiplier used(10.5x) used to attain the clock speed(10.5X200MHz=2100MHz) indicates its a 65nm based cpu. As for as performance goes expect it to be as fast as a Core 2 Duo ~1.7GHz or so.

The TL 62 is an OEM only product. Thats why you wont see any info outside of HP and the few others who might be selling that particular model.

All 62 are 65nm chips and to the next question, Intels are going to win in performance even with 65nm architecture, sorry!

For all out power at the top of the range yes, but price compariosns find that Intel and AMD cpus are matched at the same price level. Therefore, a 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo will be more powerful, but also more expensive.

I'm sure the TL-62 will serve the OP well. It's plenty powerful.
