Brand new Alienware 17 R4 as listed in my sig. I installed a new 960 Evo 500GB SSD, and it is completely usable within Windows 10. It's a secondary drive for applications only, no Windows on it. However, it's currently using a generic Microsoft driver. When trying to install the latest Samsung driver from http://www.samsung.com/global/busin...ds/software/Samsung_NVM_Express_Driver_22.zip I get the error message "Samsung NVM Express Device is not connected. Connect the Device and try again.". I've verified the drive is listed as PCIe in the bios RST settings, nor is it in any kind of RAID configuration. It is also not picked up at all by Samsung Magician.

Am I missing something here? Thanks in advance!

Even if you are not running that drive in RAID, if your BIOS is not set to AHCI you cannot install any Samsung Driver or utility. Period.

So my SATA setting is currently "RAID on", though if I change it to AHCI it just BSODs when trying to boot. I found an older thread saying I have to change a couple registry settings to boot properly after changing to AHCI. It's really screwy to me that this thing would be set to RAID with no RAID setup, though!

    classical Dell Swiss Cheese.

If that registry trick didn't work, you'd have to format and install Windows in AHCI mode if you want the best performance out of those SSDs with their specific driver.
