Is it possible to undervolt the 9600GT? I have a MSI-1651 with a 512mb 9600GT and was wondering whether this was possible in the same way that one can undervolt the CPU in order to reduce heat and power consumption.
Thanks.

No, don't try it.

GPUs automatically regulate voltage, the only way to do it is to mod the video card via BIOS or hardware mod.

Thank you, I assume it is dangerous for the hardware to try?

If you don't know what you are doing, yes, it is very easy to fry your video card and void warranty (if you still have warranty that is). If you fry your video card by shorting it or damaging some components, it will be costly since you will most likely need to replace your entire motherboard. I believe the BIOS modification is easier and less risky but you have to be comfortable with some programming and flashing. There should be some info around NBR, try the search function if you are interested in learning about it.
