What are you so excited about? Have you seen the desktop 9800 GTX specs? Nothing new here except somewhat higher core clocks, shader and mem clocks. The bus width is still 256 bit and it has 512 MB Memory and 128 shader processors.

I though the 9800GTX would kick the crap out of the 8800GTX. Now this will probably be the same with the 9600m GT and 9800m GTS. But hopefully I am completely wrong here :) Don´t misunderstand me on this I want a high end card that is at least twice as powerful as current cards, but that is maybe asking too much :)

With all the talk of the 9500m now in asus' megafail M51Sn, might we expect an update of the xps 1530 higher end model with the 9600m gt? Or would that be wishful thinking :/

how is it a megafail? Not to get this thread off topic. Its cheap and as powerful as an 8600 equipped laptop.

The 9000 series boosts the old midrange graphic card like 8600 GT ;)
and I think 9600M GT will have 256 bit bus width like 9600 GT :(

.... but the 9600GT is still a good card with 256 bit. price/performance ratio.
    8800GT is still king though.

a laptop variant of the 9600MGT will be a nice midrange card compared to the 8600MGT

If you are thinking about changing the 8600m GT in the 1530 to the 9600m when it is release, it can't be done. The card is soldered to the mother board.
