    Hi Lads,

A while ego got the Bat game and installed the new nvidia drivers for Win 7... After 10 min of playing the laptop just turned of and made sparking noises. Acer just told me that the GPU is fried. When I'm getting it back after repairs I'll leave the game running for 8 hours... :D

Anyone had problems with 9600m GT(Acer Aspire 6935G) and Batman AA or other demanding games???

    Thanks

PS. Laptop was on a table and had good ventilation and GPU wasn't overclocked !!!

I think they were around 68 and 72 when I played other games... but B:AA looked fantastic on the machine a lot better than the PS3's one...

    Thanks

Obviously, something was seriously wrong with your laptop. Simply just because your GPU overheated would not cause it to sizzle and die, it would just normally underclock itself under those circumstances or shut itself off to prevent damage.

Did you clean out your laptop regularly? Not doing so causes dust to pile up and clog vents.

What usapatriot says is completely true. Not only is the GPU not supposed to overheat in the first place by design, but if it is the case that the computer hasn't been maintained with proper cleaning, then the system should have at least downclocked the GPU.

unless...... the OP used a bios setting or third-party utility to disable heat-related down-clocking.
