The 9800M GTS featured in the Gateway P-7811FX laptop supports 1920x1200 on the 17" lcd, but will it output 1920x1440 via the External Monitor Output ? I have a 21" CRT that support 1920x1440 and I'd like to hook up the laptop to my CRT monitor at that Resolution. Thanks !

Can't find any link to confirm that but you should have no problem to use your 21" screen at its max res.

If my dell studio 15 with Ati 3450 can put a picture on a 47 inch HDTV, the nvidia card should work fine.

you can use ntune to make user defined resolution, the 9800m can go much higher than 1920x1440, you should be good with some tinkering

ntune or the nvidia control panel both allow you to select or force a certain output resolution from which your system can output.
Your system should have no problem outputting that resolution at all

My reason being is that World of Warcraft maxes out at 1920 x 1440 and I'd like to be able to play it maxed out on my 21" CRT or at 1920 x 1200 when using the laptops lcd native resolution. If NTUNE works without glitches, then this laptop can become my official desktop replacement. Thanks !

You should be able to force the resolution, but I am not sure if you can force the resolution that the game plays at.
