Alright, I'm wondering what the difference in performance/quality is when comparing dual SLI GPUs vs a single more powerful GPU. For example: NVIDIA SLI Dual GeForce 8600M GT vs NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTS. Also, the difference between faster HDD RPM vs HDD size (in GB). For example: 160GB 7,200RPM vs 320GB 5,400RPM. Thanks in advance.

I see your sig shows you have both single and dual GPU laptops. So you're speaking through experience?

Yep,the best thing is the strongest SINGLE gpu. SLI means more power drain, double the price and most of the times less than a 50% increase.

So what about the HDD? Is it better to just have more space than spindle speed?

Right now the 7200 RPM 200Gb Drive and the 320 GB 5400 RPM drive perform almost equally in most benchmarks, so I would go for size over speed. the 7200 RPM 320 GB Hitachi drive thats supposed to come out soon, thats another matter :p
