    A function in a laptop, how to find ?

    How can you find out if your laptop has " N" in it ? It has to do with networking supposedly if your laptop has " N" you don't need a router with " N" in it !

    This post is really confusing..I think your talking about WI-FI N which refers to the wifi card inside. THere are A,B,G and N wifi cards. Most cards today feature all 4 wireless bands. WIFI N is the latest version which has the fastest speed. So you still need a router but buy a wireless router. You can buy any wireless router as long as its a good brand(dlink, linksys,etc)

    Go to the device manager (depending on your OS, in XP, right click on 'My Computer' and click properties and go to device manager).

    Under the Network adapters category, what type of WLAN card does it say?

    Dude, you seem to be very very lost there. If your laptop has Wifi N then you can use the Wifi N with your router if your router supports it. Usually router utilizes Wifi G or B so you don't really need Wifi N-supported laptop.
    Oh, and you can find out whether you has Wifi N by checking which Wifi card you have.

    I'm going to check that out, I think it's a Intel LAN built in but I'm not sure. If it's a Intel are they reliable ? Hopefully I'm right so I just have to buy a router.

    Sorry about the post, the reason why it was confusing was I was referring to a specific type as in N. I wasn't sure what it meant.
