When ordering a laptop from resellers that custom configure them, such as HIDEvolution or XoticPC, etc., is there any point to getting upgraded RAM for a laptop such as, for example, the MSI GS63VR which has a 7700HQ?

Does the bios allow for using RAM at higher speeds or tweaking of timings? If not, then would putting in 2666 sticks of RAM yield no positive benefit as the bios settings lock it to running at 2133 or 2400 at set timings? (For example).

Depends on the BIOS and the chip lottery, but yeah.
