I use canned air to blast dust and other things out of the parts I can't reach on my laptop. It even does a good job clearing the dust on the screen.

That is a good price for a little vacuum though, and vacuums have many other uses. :)

Canned air is good on screens. But on keyboards and other parts, I'm a bit aprehensive that the air will blow some dust into the laptop and inside sensitive components instead of taking it out.

I received it today, I just might post a mini-review.
    The size is quite nice.

That's a good point. If anything, it would be best to go over the computer with the vacuum first and get all the loose things and only use the canned air for places that cannot be reached.

I actually have that. I bought it at K-mart over a year ago. It has excellent suction power. Actually it sucked one of my keys off the keyboard, but I was able to get it back on okay. Just use it carefully on your laptop. ;)

You need to be very careful when using a vacuum to clean a computer. I've only heard bad things about doing so. Creates a lot of static electricity that can screw with the components. Used a vacuum to clean my desktop once and the optical drive lost its ability to write DVDs for a while, I used a cd drive lens cleaner to fix it.

Why would a vacuum cleaner create static electricity ?

it creates static electricity from the rapidly moving air similar to a thunderstorm.
Although, a small vacuum like the one you listed may not be too bad.
