I recently bought a laptop on the 18th of Feb, and there are some fan issues (the CPU fan is hitting something on the inside of the computer making scraping noises), so I called BenQ about sending the computer in for service and they said, since it's within 14 days of purchase, I should bring the computer to the shop I bought it from and the shop will give me a replacement computer.

Is this correct or are they just re-routing me??

There should be a 14 day return/exchange policy wherever you bought it, check it out. I'd choose that over sending it off for warranty, less downtime.
