    Hi all. Here is the situation;

    I ordered a 840 evo 120gb SSD.

    Then I came across this old data read very slowly probem on the internet. Loads of people was complaining and samsungs fix didn't do any good.

    Then I cancelled my order and now looking for another SSD with a good record.

    I understand that benchmarks are important but I don't want a state of the art SSD, I just want a fast reliable SSD with a good record.

    So based on the experiences of you guys, can you suggest me a model/brand?

    My system is:

    Samsung NP540U3C,

    Sata III, Intel HM76 chipset, Core i5, 7mm SSD height

    Thanks in advance and have a good day!

    Sandisk Extreme Pro is a good, reliable, fast all around SSD. I would recommend going with 240GB/256GB whatever you get though because the smaller 120-128GB drives will only bottleneck performance typically.

    Crucial M550 or Samsung 850 Pro or Intel 520 are also good drives to consider.

    Any MLC NAND SSD is reliable as long as it doesn't sport a SandForce controller (stay away from all Kingston crap since they use SandForce controllers)

    Get the 850 PRO or SanDisk Extreme PRO for the best reliability and performance.

    Even the older 840 PRO which is cheap now is night and day better than the TLC based crappy EVO

    Agreed! Personally, the Sandisk Extreme II has been great and people have said thar the Extreme Pro is even better so if your budget is small, consider the Extreme II.. Otherwise, the extreme pro is the way to go :)
