I have an Acer Aspire 5003, the ac adapter stopped working for no reason that I know of, so I ordered a replacement, not oem, but the Amps are different. The Aspire says 19v 3.42A, the replacement charger says
19v 6.3A. Can I use this replacement charger without hurting my laptop? I am wondering if the laptop will only draw as much as it needs, or will it over charge the battery? I don't understand how all of this stuff works, so I really appreciate anyone that can help me.

you will be fine you original was an 65watt adaptor and your new one is an 120watt version.
as long as you set the right voltage to 19volt if it`s adjustable you will be fine.
as you said, your computer will only draw what it needs, and you have room to grow!.
if you dont already have an surge protector, I would suggest you buy one.
better to be safe than sorry.

That replacement PSU must be a monster.
Anyway, no worries about connecting it provided the plug fits and the polarity is correct (there should be a symbol on the PSU showing which parts of the plug are + and -. Most have the centre part as +.
There is no risk of blowing the computer up due to power overload. Your computer will only use as much power as it needs. You may find the battery recharge time with the computer running becomes shorter.
