I just noticed this yesterday, and i don't know if its something to be concerned of. Basically the big brick that connects the outlet to my laptop is starting to come apart. What i mean is that, from the right side of the brick i can slide apart the plastic from the middle line, but the left side is still sealed. Should i just tape the right side down?

You should be looking at obtaining a replacement. I would be worried if anything with mains power flowing into it is not properly insulated in case of shock; death etc.

I found a new one on ebay pretty cheap. unless you like to roll the charger up in electrical tape it should be ok as long as you don't smell smoke coming out of it. Also if your charger is old enough to be going through this, remember your battery only lasts a good 2 years if you're lucky. New ones on Ebay are questionable, but if you look find one that is rohs certified as to get certified they must pass certain tests. I saved about 100 on one and it lasts longer than the battery that came with my laptop.
