Hi ever one, this is my first post and I will go straight to the point. I have an ACER 6920g pretty much the basic one. T5550 2.0, 3gb ram, Ati HD3650. My question is this can I put an ATI HD 4650 or 4670 with out having to change the bios settling because I have no idea on how to do that. I know I can use 9600m gt but the bench mark test of the HD4560 and 4670 is higher than that of 9600m gt. So if any one here has actually got both HD4650 and HD4670 please let me know how you went about it.
    Thanks
    George

I have a 6920G under my care but I've only swapped an nVidia card for another one.
As far as I know you should have no problems with either 4650 or 4670. It's a straightforward swap except you may need a copper shim on a GPU core as the core on ATI and nVidia is slightly different- nVidia seems to be taller so ATI may not make perfect contact with the radiator.

Other than that- pay attention to the card you're buying- no inverted cards (Asus) no ROM-less cards (Toshiba)- it has to be a standard MXM card.

Cards for Asus notebooks are inverted (if it fits in the slot the core id facing down not up) and cards meant for Toshiba notebooks do not have ROM on them at all.
If you're buying one, it's usually clearly stated that it's meant for Toshiba or Asus. All you need is a standard MXM-II card.

So in short- avoid any cards that are meant for Asus or Toshiba but also verify that the card you want to buy is not a non-standard card too.
