I recently ordered an ACER ASPIRE 5672WLMI. I know acer is an international brand so i would assume that they have a voltage regulator for american and european voltages? This said im guessing all i would need is an adapter plug with surge protector for use in europe?

It depends on the adapter you recieve. Most adapters can handle both 110 V and 230 V. You can check if it does, by looking at the sticker on the adapter itself, and looking at what voltages it mentions under "Input". If it gives a range like 110-230 V, then you should be fine using it in either places with 110 V and 230 V.
