I was pissed off that Acer Aspire 5740g do not have indication led for webcam condition on/off. So I open the lid with intention to install led, what I found is that there already have one. However no hole drilled.

What you need to do is to remove the tabs in the 4 corners, unscrew 4 bolts and remove lid front frame. Make a small hole in front of the led :).

No need to worry about backdoor and trojan monitoring your webcam :).

    I`m glad for you weinter.

Many manufactures (notebooks, TVs, Mobile phones) really surprise with missing basic stuffs. However hidden in some service menu or like in this case inside the casing :).
