I was reading some articles about the AH-IPS screen made by LG and was wondering if this panel was true 8-bit or 6-bit. From what I've read I am getting confused.

I know some of the cheaper Dell desktop IPS screens use 6-bit+FRC/dithering so that's why I was interested to know what the deal is with these new AH-IPS panels.

BTW the laptop I'm looking at is the A540-PE50K with the 15.6" AH-IPS panel. I just can't seem to find anything about this 15.6" panel. No detailed specifications in sight!
