How do you think those two CPUs perform against each other? Will I see big difference?
My plans for this computer is mostly programming, office stuff, maybe connect it to TV and month movies by HDMI... maybe some light gaming.. I am also plan to install Linux on it.
What do you think I should get?

AMD's mobile CPUs tend to use outdated architectures, whereas Intel has been continuously improving off Yonah with Merom, Penryn, etc. The list of advantages that the Core 2 Duo has over the Athlon is really long; needless to say, it will yield better performance, lower temperatures and much better battery life. For $50, these benefits are definitely worth it.

It looks like the P8400 is at least 1/3 more powerful, according to the Passmark Cpu list.
P8400 = 1563
QL-62 = 1033
