AMD Sempron 3400 (1.80GHz/256KB) VS. Intel Core Duo processor T2250 (1.73 GHz). I am looking at the two Hp models that each have these processors, one is the 6000z, the other is the 5000t. I dont know much about this stuff, which would be better for me? I don't do any gaming, I do run multiple applications alot, I use my computer to run my small business, watch movies, and store music/digital photgraphy. Thanks for the help!

the core duo will kill the sempron. sempron is competition for celeron, which is below pentium m, which competes with with the turion, which is below core duo and turion x2, currently core duo is the best notebook processor out there, while sempron is the second worst (excluding shoe horned desktop processors

I dont get it, then why is the 6000z $200 more than the 5000t?
-
Between these, if I had to choose it would be the Core Duo since its great for running multiple programs. As to why the other is more expensive, I really dont know cuz i dont have the specs, but u cant expect price to be soley based on the processor.(the sempron 3400 alone only costs around 100 bucks)

1st, get the Turion x2, not the Sempron.
2nd, dv5000t has instant rebate $100, another free ram upgrade, $75
3rd, dv5000t has been around longer than the dv6000t
4th, due to newly designed, latchless cover, sound scrollstrip, etc.
Configure at:
CPU 1.6ghz x2
GPU 7400go/7200go
RAM 1gb
HDD 100gb
Price:
dv5000t $1036 + $100 + $75 = $1211
dv6000z $1214
If u wait long enuf, the dv6000t might have a price fall until about $1000, my guess. -
The Core Duo will be faster than the Sempron. Get the Turion X2 if you need a comparable processor to the Cored Duo. -
I still dont get it, if the 6000 is so new AND more expensive but the duo processor is better, than why are they charging more for it?

First off, a Core Duo is a whole different class then the sempron, there not comparable, compare it to the celeron, if the price is almost the same as getting a sempron and a core duo go with the duo imo.
