I'm looking for the TL-66 to stick in my laptop but Ive searched everywhere and haven't found a store that sells it. I've read in many places that say that it has been released but it's no where to be found.

I've searched on google, and found a couple places that have it. They are online stores that have never heard of, but they seem ok.

    Here are a few:

    http://www.fadfusion.com/selection.php?product_item_number=10066800642

    http://www.computerhq.com/AMD_TURIO...MDTL66HAX5DC/hardware/partinfo-id-917499.html

Those are a couple, there alot more. Tho it seems that most have them on backorder, so keep checking back.

Also, if you're looking to upgreade, try the tl-64. It's only 100MHz slower than the 66, but it's well over 100 bux cheaper and it's quite available, unlike the 66. $100 is not worth the extra 0.1GHz of speed and the hassle of trying to find one.

Heh, I'm amazed how you found those. I searched everywhere but no where to be found.

I guess that paying $100 more for the TL-66 is pretty ridiculous so I guess I'll stick with the TL-64. The thing is that they are all overpriced. The cheapest TL-64 processor that I found was $324.10. According to AMD, they are suppose to be around $263 and TL-66 around $354.

So I guess I'll wait before buying one.

Remember, those prices are for "direct AMD customers in 1000-unit tray quantities", so if you buy in bulk you get a discount obviously. But if you're an individual buyer, you pay the regular price.

Just search "turion x2 tl-64" in google, and click on the first link that says "product search results for turion x2 tl-64". That's how I was able to find all those websites selling them. Keep an eye on them and see how the prices are in a couple weeks.

Edit: just looked at them again, and the site thenerds.net has the 64 going for $305.75 and is in stock.

Yes it is ridiculous; that's $1 per megahertz.

Unless AMD has some price cuts in the pipeline or they are going to introduce a faster Turion X2, I doubt you are going to see a price decrease. The top-shelf CPUs always fetch a premium.
