    Hi.

What is the equivalent or similar Intel Core 2 Duo CPU to the AMD Turion™ 64 X2 TL-64 (2.2Ghz)???

    Is the AMD Turion™ 64 X2 TL-64 faster than a Core 2 Duo T7250 (2Ghz, 2mb)??

    thanks

    I think Turion X2 TL64 = C2D T7100, as TL58 = C2D 1.6GHz.
For rough comparison, yes it is match to T7250 in general.

Actually, I was very surprised when I compared Vista Performance Index of my F3Ka with TL-60 (2 GHZ) with my friend's Lenovo T7250 (2 GHZ). It showed 4,8 for the processing power of my system while 4,3 for his. I thought it should have been different. I suggest to look at other components if you are deciding between two systems with the same price.

It could be true. However, 20% difference in benchmarks don't mean a person will feel a difference in real work. In most of the cases Intel or AMD will get the job done. The question is whether it is necessary to invest more in performance which might never be used.

You wouldn't notice a difference between a 2GHz AMD X2 and a 2GHz Core 2. The processor is not going to be the bottleneck in most systems unless you're running programs that specifically depend on them. I recommend basing your buying decision on other factors, such as the screen and battery life, or whatever is important to you.

Just as a rough estimate my TL-64 scored 5.9 on Windows point system.
