The ZM-80 has 2mb L2 cache, compared to the TL-64's 1mb cache. In addition, the TL-64 has a HyperTransport (HT) speed of 1600MHz, but the ZM-80's HT is 3600MHz. *As I understand it, an AMD processor's HT speed is similar in concept to an Intel's FSB speed...it signifies the speed at which the processor can communicate with system memory.
So, double the L2 cache and more than double the HT speed will improve performance more than enough to compensate for the 0.1GHz clock speed difference. The Turion Ultra processors (ZM-8#) are also more energy efficient than the older Turion (TL-##) series. Finally, the ZM-80 is unique among Turion Ultra processors because it features a 32W TDP vs. 35W for the ZM-82+ as well as the TL-models.
Long story short, go with the ZM-80!
Just curious, what brand/model of notebook are you getting? Have you thought about the best choice of graphics card, too? -
so wat about this >> Processor 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 is it better than both ?
yes about the graphic its the 8400m gs or the 3450 and i dont think i will see much difference betweem .. and the 3 laptops has 2 giga ram -

If I had to choose between the 2.0GHz Intel T5750, 2.1GHz AMD Turion Ultra ZM-80 and 2.2GHz AMD Turion TL-64, I'd pick the Intel T5750 for reliable performance and longevity. The heat issues in HP systems with the AMD ZM-series processors makes me want to avoid them if possible.
AMD Turion X2 TL-64 Or Ultra Zm-80 ??
