I know that the Intel Core 2 Duo is a more efficient processor, but at this level of comparison which is better from a performance and battery life point of view.
If i could get a reason of why one processor outperforms the other that would be great. Thanx!
This is for a Laptop.
AMD Turion 64 X2 Gold Edition TL-64 (2.2 GHz)
Or
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5550 (1.83GHz)
And for battery life, which is better, an IGP or a stand alone graphics card?

X2 for performance, C2D for battery life.

IGP's use less battery than discrete GPU's.

there was an article a while back which tested a 1.9GHz X2 against a 1.5Ghz C2D, and the C2D hands down beat the X2, both in performance and battery tests. That article is on this forum somewhere.

Well here is a link for w/prime and the Turion and C2D are basically the same at the same clock no C2D with 31% less clocks will come close to a Turion. I would really need to know the benchmarks used, to confirm they are not boutique benchmarks. I know at the same clocks the C2D does win but 31% less is really starting to push it's advantage, I would be careful accepting this a generality. I am certain there are many things the Turion will surpass the C2D on at clocks mentioned. I would find them to be about equal as the question was asked.
