What happened to AMD after they did that wonderful promo of the laptop hidden inside the tower playing Dirt 3? Seems like they went quiet (hopefully hard at work).

Where are all the OEMs showing off prototypes like we see in the Ultrabook world?

But where are all the OEMs showcasing their AMD versions to the Ultrabooks if it is around the corner?

ultrabook if you look at the Intel Inside space is targetted as 'premium' segment(i.e. $$$) which unfortunately the label AMD would deminish the value so I doubt vendor would use them at this stage.

That's an interesting theory, and it wouldn't surprise me. But remember that the "ultrabooks" are targetted against the macbook air. That's their segment.

their as AMD ? This has nothing to do with technology, purely price point. ultrabook is branded(as you mentioned MBA) 'higher' price segment which AMD cannot sequeeze in yet. They may be superior technlogy wise but until Apple use them, AMD == bottom of the food chain.

That's what I was saying, if you read the quoted text I was replying to, it was about Intel and ultrabooks that are targetting the MBA segment, which is why they are so expensive.
