Hey there, im looking to buy my first notebook for college. right now im having trouble deciding processors. i hear the AMD 64 is good but then there is also alot of hype for the new Intel Dual Core. so my question is which one would be the best onr to buy. i will be using it for school work, a decent amount of music, internet, maby some photo/video editing. however i dont believe i will be gaming (i have an xbox for that). also i would the notebook to last me at leat 4 years or so with just a few minor upgrades. so which would fit me best. also i have read about the new Dual 64-bit processor coming out soon, which seems to me to be the best. cuz it is like both in one. any input that you guys have will be greatly apreaciated.

Most people will tell you to get a 64 bit processor for the long time you are keeping your notebook due to it being future proof.
Dual core processors are excellent if you are multitasking. Whats your budget anyways? In fact, you should post this in the "What Notebook Should I Buy?" section and fill out the FAQ.

if you buy a core duo there is a possibility you can upgrade it to a dual core 64 bit merom processr when their released, They are pin and chipset compatiable it's just up to your manufacturer to provide a bios update.
