Which is best for an HP laptop either a DV3Z or DV4T which will be used for photoshop, some video edit and movies.....no games. Don't want a lot of heat.
DV3Z
AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual core ZM-80
ATI Radeon 3200 64meg
or
HP4T
Intel core duo P8400
Geforce Nividia 9200M 512
I can go either the 3Z or 4T, just want the right CPU and video card.
Thanks.

Intel for sure, it's better in all aspects, when it comes to performance, batterytime and drawing less heat.
What do you need the GPU for if you're not gaming? Or do you want a vid card that gives you less heat and such? All video cards should be cool if they are not used for gaming so.
EDIT: Added more info. -
The HP4T is a better choice. The cpu is more power efficient, and it is faster than the ZM-80.
Not sure about the graphics power, but both are going to be soldered to the motherboard, so you will not be able to upgrade either graphics solution in the future.

intel crushes amd

you're gonna do photo and video editing on a tiny screen? I'd go with AMD and save yourself some money. Who cares about the heat issue...they both get hot...get a decent 17" if you can.

If price isn't an issue, go Intel. AMD's mobile CPUs aren't really worth it yet unless you're tight on budget and aren't doing anything special.

Well AMD has put a lot on the Phenom II and it's quite good(and still cheaper), but as Michel said, it's a desktop CPU. AMD mobile CPUs aren't yet up to par and are mostly there as budget tight alternatives.
AMD will come around eventually. ATI is doign very well for itself and I think AMD is aiming to go that direction(i.e. cheaper but good performance) -
I've almost always owned an AMD computer, i think i had like 7 intel-systems through my life and the rest is like 15-20 AMD-systems i had. So i'm not an intel freak, no no. AMD/ATI is doing very well though as said, i think they will be the best choice very soon in all notebooks when it comes to the most powerful GPU's (not CPU).

Well I've also owned more AMD computers than Intel ones and for desktops, AMD CPUs are perfectly respectable since they are marginally cheaper than Intels and perform well. Their new Phenom II is quite impressive as said before.
Their notebook CPUs on the other hand lack the performance and their price(while beign loewr) does not always justify the other cons their CPUs have.
Their ATI GPUs though are gaining much ground over Nvidias in both the desktop and notebook world it seems.
AMD or Intel for HP laptop
